Member Care Tips - Part 11

I can relate to Paul when he says that which I want to do, I do not do, and the things I do not want to do, I do.

There are times when my life does not match my values.

I wish that was not true of me but if I am honest it is. I have a desire to live a God pleasing, God honoring life. I have a desire to treat people well, do the right thing, make right decisions but at times, I fail.

Sanctification is both fixed and a process.

The Bible teaches that I become a saint at the moment of my salvation. I have right standing with God. The Bible also teaches that sanctification is a process that takes a lifetime.

I believe in order for the process of sanctification to be effective, you have to believe that your starting point is you are a saint at the moment of salvation.

Right standing leads to right living. Because I am in right standing with God, the Holy Spirit can make me be what I already am.

Satan wants to make you believe you have to earn your standing with God. Satan wants you to work to be right with God, use your will power and self discipline. I don’t know about you but I always eventually fail at that.

No, I am in right standing with God now. I am born again. The Holy Spirit lives inside of me, that means deity lives in you.

My righteousness flows out of who God made me to be. It does not excuse sin but it takes the pressure off of me. I cooperate with the Holy Spirit to make me be who I already am. It is His work in me.

I do not believe in promise Christianity. I do not promise to God to do better. Both God and I know I won’t.

You yield, cooperate, submit to the Holy Spirit’s work in your life. God will produce His fruit, His character in you, then you live it out.

Transformation is always an inside/out process.

If you are struggling with sin today, don’t promise to do better. Focus on your relationship with God. Yield and submit to his work in you. Trust Him to produce in you who He wants you to be.

We walk by faith!
